On March 29-31, 2011, Astana, the national capital of Kazakhstan, will be hosting Kazakhstan Industrial Innovation Forum, which will incorporate four specialised exhibitions on Ecotechnologies and Ecoservices – EcoTech Astana, Nuclear Power and Industry – KazAtomExpo, Power Engineering and Energy Conservation – Power Astana, and Mining, Metallurgy and Mechanical Engineering – Mining & Metals.
The extensive agenda of the Forum makes a special emphasis on innovations in industry and mechanisms to implement innovative projects in current economies. The agenda will also include conferences, roundtables and workshops by representatives from government bodies and associations, as well as presentations by exhibiting companies.
The exhibition will bring together the highest level of government organizations and ministries, representatives of international business and mining companies.

In March 2010, the decree by President Nazarbayev approved the State Programme on Forced Industrial and innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014. The State Programme aims to ensure a sustainable and well-balanced economic growth in Kazakhstan through diversification and improving its competitiveness. The 2010-2014 State Programme sets out activities to develop competition in Kazakhstan; provide technical regulation and quality infrastructure; develop the Kazakhstan content; develop innovations and assist in technical upgrade; promote investment, develop social and economic zones, and enhance export.
Results of the first year of the Programme implementation were recently delivered to show a serious scale: since the beginning of 2010, 152 investment projects had been launched in Kazakhstan, totalling $5,4 billions.
Kazakhstan International Industrial Innovation Forum will turn in to a unique communication venue to demonstrate the latest technological developments and discuss the innovation market development in Kazakhstan in order to upgrade and improve competitiveness of Kazakhstan’s industry.
