This exhibition of environmental technology and services has a few features. Just like the last year, this year’s General Sponsor of the exhibition was KazMunaiGas Exploration & Production JSC, the leading local oil company.
With support from the Ministry of Environment Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), the exhibition will include a conference on Waste Treatment Industry Promotion in Kazakhstan and International Waste Management Expertise. ENRC, one of the world’s leading companies in mineral production and processing, will be General Sponsor of the conference. The agenda includes waste management as contribution to further prosperity of Kazakhstan; comprehensive use of recoverable resources and waste by extractive industries; waste recycling development capacity and international expertise; significance of managerial decisions for waste accounting and recycling; waste as an energy source: biogas, methane, sulphur, effective use of resources and energy conservation; waste as a new opportunity to develop small and medium business (glass, rubber, paper, building materials, fertilisers, import substitution); social aspects of liquidation of historical contamination. The Kazakhstan Business Association for Sustainable Development (KBASD) will be official partner of the conference.
For the first time ever, the exhibition is going to feature presentation of children’s drawings, finalists of the Children National Ecological Competition of Creative Works organised by EcoIDEA Public Foundation jointly with CAREC in 2009 to draw children’s and youth’s attention to the existing environmental challenges and to encourage gifted children interested in nature protection topics.
Traditionally, EcoTech is a venue for professional discussion of all pressing environmental issues, presentation of the latest conservation technologies, discussion of joint projects, and signing of contracts. In this respect, the exhibition includes a number of various activities. For instance, the Kazakhstan company Vtorma Ecology Co. LLP will arrange tours to a landfill and a waste recycling plant.
